How to Lose Weight Before Christmas?

Christmas is almost around the corner. But that means a lot of sweets, food, and drinks. Ahem! I know, not for all. However, you can at least aim to lose your existing weight before it comes. Once you fall into that routine, things might change during the Christmas season.

For example, you might not eat, drink, or consume excessive sugar during Christmas or the last few days. Today, we are going to cover a few ways to lose weight before the festive season. Also, these tips, tricks, and workouts can easily be adjusted to your routine.

5 Things That Can Help You Lose Weight Before Christmas

Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent fasting involves avoiding food and drinks during a set period and following a low-calorie deficit diet during your fasting window. The most popular is the 16:8 intermittent fasting plan, in which you fast for 16 hours and eat during the 8-hour window.

How can you adjust in your existing routine? Two options seem feasible. The first is having brunch and skipping the usual breakfast and lunch routine. So, your first meal would be at noon.

The second option is having an early dinner, i.e., by 6 or 7 in the evening, and then having the next meal in the morning after nine. Either plan will give you enough time to burn calories and reduce your weight.

Calorie Deficit Diet

A calorie-deficient diet means that you are reducing your daily calorie intake. For example, if you were having 2000-2500 calories a day and decreased it to 1000-1500 calories. By doing so, you can carry out your daily routine and lose weight before Christmas.

A calorie deficit diet works wonders for many people. Unfortunately, the initial stage, i.e., especially the first week, is very challenging as it involves building a habit of decreasing your calorie intake, meaning you consume less food.

Therefore, you have high chances of feeling hungry and being tempted to consume more carbohydrates. However, if you follow along and become successful in carrying out the calorie deficit diet, it will decrease your weight substantially. The easiest way to follow this diet is by sleeping on time.

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

One of the best ways to reduce your weight is through high-intensity interval training. It burns high calories in a short span of time. It involves doing multiple exercises with short breaks or rest periods.

For example, you do ten burpees, rest for 30 seconds, then 10 alternate lunges, rest for 30 seconds, and then ten deep squats as the finisher. To make it even more intense, you can continue with a short rest of 30-45 seconds after the first set finishes and then do the second set with the same rest formats.

Beginners can do 3-4 sets, whereas intermediate athletes can do 5-6, and advanced-level athletes can do 7 or more sets. However, the effectiveness of the set would only last if you don’t consume excessive calories after completing the High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout.

Cardio Workouts

Running, jumping, walking, and other cardiovascular exercises can significantly decrease your weight before Christmas. However, it is necessary to gradually increase the workout duration. For example, if you begin with a 15-minute running workout, you must increase it to 30 minutes gradually.

If you want to lose 1 kg in a week, you need to burn 7,700 calories. Jumping rope can burn 800-1000 calories in an hour. So, if you do that for a week, you can lose 1 kg or more. Similarly, running can burn 500-600 calories in an hour.

Although these are estimated and depend on your body weight, the results will show significant improvement every week. Personally, I like outdoor running in a park or shadow boxing anywhere. Let me know which cardio activity is your favourite.

A Combined Plan

Once you become comfortable with either of the methods mentioned above, you can try combining them. For example, you can include a calorie deficit diet and intermittent fasting together.

If you are already following this routine, you can add cardio activities and HIIT workouts. By doing so, you can accelerate your weight loss. However, it is essential to avoid excessive weight loss, as it can hamper your health.

The best method to achieve your weight loss goals before Christmas is by hiring an online fitness trainer.

Conclusion

Losing weight before Christmas doesn’t have to be challenging. You can begin it with a calorie deficit and add intermittent fasting. It can become easier by hiring an online personal trainer. A fitness coach can help build a routine comfortable with your ongoing routine and keep a check on your diet or workout.

Moreover, hiring an online personal trainer can help to stay consistent. As a result, you can become closer to your ideal weight. Besides this, if you plan to do the journey alone, doing bodyweight workouts and cardio activities can prove beneficial.
